Launching - Spada

Spada is built around a simple concept: a combat game based entirely on Quick-Time Events (QTEs). Battles take place in a gladiator arena reminiscent of the Colosseum. The setting isn't tied to a specific historical period; we simply wanted to feature cool armor and characters, resulting in a blend of medieval and even mystical eras and cultures.

You play as a gladiator fighting for freedom, so survival is a key theme. That’s why your health bar doesn't regenerate between battles. The same applies to your gear—armor, shield, and sword—which deteriorate based on where you take hits. As your sword wears down, your attack power decreases.

If you win a fight, you receive in-game resources that can be exchanged for better equipment or used to restore your health. The reward varies depending on your performance. This creates a "snowball effect": starting strong is crucial for acquiring better gear and—most importantly—avoiding the need to spend your hard-earned resources on health restoration.

The gameplay might seem tough at first, but after a match or two, the mechanics become intuitive. We’re still considering minor tweaks—like making visual cues clearer or easing the difficulty—but the game's appeal may well lie in its challenge. That’s why we’re eager to get player feedback on this initial pre-demo.

If you enjoy fast-paced, challenging games that might just make you rage-quit, Spada is for you!
